🚩 Welcome to the Model Horse Social (Start Here)

Whether you are a veteran of the "National Show" circuit or just unboxing your very first Breyer, we are glad you’re here.

We have moved to this new, streamlined format to keep the conversation moving. Think of this as our community's live feed where you can see every new sculpt, sales link, and question in real-time. No more hunting through dead categories; if it’s happening in the hobby, it’s happening right here.

🐴 Introduce Your Herd!

We want to know who is in the arena with us! Tell us a bit about your journey in the hobby:

  • Experience: How many years have you been "riding" in the model horse world?
  • The Herd: Roughly how many models are currently in your stable? (We won't tell your spouse!)
  • The "Holy Grail": Who is your favorite artist, painter, or specific model?
  • The Focus: Do you collect OF (Original Finish), CM (Customs), or AR (Artist Resins)?

Requesting Permission to Enter

Before you "tack up" and join the discussion, please take a moment to read our Arena Rules. Remember: respect the artists, credit your photographers, and let’s keep the "community buzz" constructive.

✅ Release & Riding Etiquette

1. Requesting Permission to Enter (Registration)

Just like entering a warm-up ring, show respect to those already on the rail.

  • One Rider, One Horse: One account per person.
  • True Colors: Use a valid email. Anonymity is fine, but "ghost riding" to bypass bans or cause trouble is not permitted.

2. The Sales Pen (Waiver of Liability)

ModeHorses.com provides the arena, but we don’t own the horses.

  • Third-Party Venues: All sales links must lead to reputable venues.
  • The Waiver: ModeHorses.com (and its owners) are not responsible for transactions gone wrong, "non-paying bidders," or models that arrive "not as described." You are responsible for your own "vet checks" (due diligence) before buying.

3. Ring Etiquette (Community Buzz)

We talk about the good and the bad here, but keep your heels down and your head up.

  • Critique the Sculpt, Not the Artist: You may discuss the quality of work or public business conduct. However, personal attacks, "barn drama," and harassment are grounds for being excused from the ring.
  • Fact-Based Riding: If you are sharing a "bad" experience with a collector or artist, keep it to first-hand facts. No "I heard from a friend" hearsay.

4. Handling Your Questions (The Schooling Ring)

There are no "green" questions here.

  • If you’re seeking answers on customizing, values, or identification, be specific. The more info you give, the better the coaching you'll get.

5. Borrowing Tack (Image Copyright & Credits)

In our community, photos are like tack—just because it’s sitting out doesn’t mean it belongs to you.

  • Get Permission: Before posting a photo from an artist’s website or another collector's social media, try to get the "all-clear" first.
  • Give Credit: If you are sharing a photo for discussion or a "shoutout," always credit the photographer and the artist. A quick "Photo credit: [Name]" keeps you in good standing with the judge.
  • No Poaching: Never use someone else's photo to sell your own model. This is considered "foul riding" and will result in an immediate disqualification.

6. Disqualification (Moderation)

The "Judge" (Moderators) has the final word. If your behavior is spooking the other riders or creating a toxic environment, you will be asked to leave the arena.

"By posting in Model Horse Social, you signify your signature on this waiver. Now, jump in and post!"
